Bandecchi, the mayor's insults to the councilor: "Her voice is more disgusting than usual"

Cinzia Fabrizi, a school principal, is part of the mixed group of Palazzo Spada after leaving FdI, contesting the party's alliance with Bandecchi's Ap in the last regional elections, which were then resoundingly lost by the center-right.

“I’m sorry that you shouted nonsense and said false and tendentious things, the kids will have to understand who to vote for because people like you are dangerous in politics”, this is Bandecchi’s premise in his reply for “personal matter” to Fabrizi. But that’s not all. “You should be ashamed – added Bandecchi – of speaking about the mayor of this city in the terms you addressed me, with an unpleasant voice, so next time speak softly because when you shout your voice is more disgusting than usual. Dear kids, learn to vote for intelligent people because there are professors who, despite being qualified, should not teach in our schools...”

“I am the one who is speaking on a personal matter – Fabrizi’s response in the chamber –. This is the respect that the mayor shows for the city councilors and for the work of the Council. When there is political opposition, there is no reference to the tone of voice, ... in front of the students and the city, the spectacle to which the mayor has unfortunately accustomed us is truly inappropriate”.

“Intolerable words, Bandecchi should apologize”, so says Maria Grazia Proietti , regional councilor of the Democratic Party and who in a note also defines herself as a “citizen of Terni”. “Once again, Mayor Bandecchi has transformed the council chamber into a personal ring, insulting councilor Cinzia Fabrizi with outrageous words that, once again, offend the entire city community – underlines Proietti – . I cannot accept that the mayor, called to guarantee decorum and respect for the institutions, continues to descend into vulgar and aggressive behavior. I have expressed concern and regret several times for his verbal drift and the brutalization of the political debate that derives from it. I can no longer tolerate that Terni continues to end up in the national news for the inappropriate outbursts of its mayor. This damages the image of our city and mortifies the work of those who, in the majority or in opposition, make the effort and try to seriously deal with real problems”.
